The owner of the young dog that died from poisoning early last month has very kindly passed on the results of the toxicology report. This confirmed that the cause of death was mushroom poison.
We still have no firm evidence to link this poisoning to mushrooms on Cleeve Common, as the dog was walked over the hill and all the way down to Winchcombe. There are however many types of mushroom to be found around the Common, some of which may be poisonous. It's impossible to know where and when they will pop up, so please be vigilant when you're out with your dog.
