Our Galloway cattle are back from their holiday in the Butterfly Reserve to the first of their winter enclosures on the Common. It is situated below the heather plot at the top end of Washpool valley: see map below. The paddock has electric fencing and there are two pedestrian gates. Winter grazing by the cattle is the cornerstone of our conservation management, to maintain the wonderful diversity of flowers and grasses for which the Common is renowned. We therefore ask for your co-operation by not damaging the temporary fencing or disturbing the cattle.
