The cattle are now in a temporary paddock with electric fencing, adjacent to the the heather plot on the uphill side. This is just for a couple of weeks so there are no pedestrian or bridle gates included in the electric fencing. See map below.
Paddocking the cattle over winter helps concentrate their grazing effort where it is most need for grassland management. We will let you know when they move to their final winter munching spot before they have the full run of the common in spring.
